Welcome to our website
Heather and Zak Smith began Salix Solutions LLC in the summer of 2016 in order to live a life in alignment with their values and beliefs, doing meaningful work that supports their environment, community, and family's way of life. Combining Zak's love for all things plants and ecology with Heather's love of holistic well-being, the diverse offerings of Salix Solutions LLC keeps both happy, healthy, engaged, challenged, and ending each day feeling like they've accomplished worthwhile and meaningful work. We enjoy sharing our love of nature, the natural world, and systems to which we belong with our three sons, and hope this work helps make their futures all the more healthy and rewarding too.

Zak Smith
Owner Operator
Zak Smith is a life long PNW resident and lover of the Earth. He has been working as a wild harvester of willow since the fall of 2011 and dabbles in farming with a focus on regenerative systems. He is passionate about repairing the damage we have done to the the ecosystems we inhabit and on which we rely for our survival. Zak has a hunger for knowledge of plants, plant medicine, and the many ways willow can be utilized to offer a broad range of solutions to the ever greater and pressing problems of our times.
Heather R. Smith
Owner Operator
Heather is more oft seen behind the scenes, in the office or making plant material deliveries with her and Zak's three children. She is fascinated with the natural world, the energetic exchange of life, the weaving of knowings. Blending her love of learning, whole systems health, healing, and well-being, water, earth, and the uncannily similar lives of Humans and Beavers, Heather feels excited for the possibilities of blending that which is good for the land with that which is good for the human psyche for mutual restoration, healing, health, and well-being.
